Gift Giving 101: For the man

With December just around the corner, the Christmas shopping has begun. If you’re ahead of the game you may have most of the people on your list already ticked off. My mom is probably reading this thinking she will get a hint of what will be under the tree from me this year; little does she know I am broke and her present is my presence – sorry mom. You may have most of your gifts bought, but one of the most stressful gifts to buy this time of year always seems to be your significant other. Whether he is your boyfriend, husband, casual guy friend, or none of the above, finding the perfect gift can cause anxiety. The following list should help relieve some of the pressure.

  1. A watch

This is a classic. A gift that is both useful and stylish. It may be on the pricier side so I’d reserve this one for a real catch.

This watch can be found at www.wolfandbadger.com for $217.00

2. A shaving kit

A shaving kit doesn’t have to just be practical, but stylish as well.

You can get this Kent & Bond set at www.gilt.com

3. Framed photos

If you’re looking for a gift a little more heartfelt that won’t break the bank a couple of framed photos of the two of you are sure to put a smile on his face Christmas morning.

4. Slippers

If he’s a man, he probably enjoys sitting around the house watching TV. Make the experience even more comfortable for him with a pair of new slippers; because why not make it a little harder from him to get up and do what you ask?

You can find these pair at www.overland.com for $99

5. Cologne

If you don’t like the way your man smells, this is the perfect opportunity to change that without hurting his feelings.

A personal favourite of mine is 1 Million by Paco Rabanne. You can find this at Sephora, and while you’re at it you might as well pick up something nice for yourself; it only makes sense.

6. At home beer making kit

If you’re trying to think outside the box this gift is great. There’s not much a man loves more than his beer, so this at home beer making kit is the perfect gift for that special someone.

You can find this one at www.craftabrew.com for $125.00

7. A gift card

If all else fails and you find yourself at Wal-Mart on Christmas Eve trying to convince yourself a bulk pack of batteries and socks are good gifts, grab a gift card. Whether it’s Itunes or his favorite restaurant, it’s a gift that is practical and will be put to use.
